FAQ:

Who is required to audition for the Summer Intensive?

Unless you are currently enrolled in Adage Ballet Academy, you are required to audition for the Summer Intensive. Even if we know you as a dancer from previous Workshops, Intensives, or Private Coaching Sessions, it is important to see you in the context with others in order to determine proper level placement.

Can I audition by video?

We prefer students attend our scheduled audition in person. Video auditions are accepted only from students who cannot attend the scheduled audition. For more information, please contact us at info@adageballetstudio.com.

When will I find out the results of the audition?

Audition results will be e-mailed within 2-3 weeks of the audition date. No personal feedback from the audition will be provided. Students who are accepted will be asked to respond by the deadline provided in their acceptance letter whether they plan to attend or respectfully decline. The registration deposit is due upon acceptance. Those who do not register by their deadline will be placed on a waitlist.

How are students chosen for Summer Intensive?

Summer Intensive is by audition only. Students are assessed based on their technique, overall ability, physical attributes, strength, focus, attitude, and previous classical ballet training, as well as the ability to receive and apply corrections.

Are there different levels within the program? How and when does level placement happen?

At ABA we have Tiers of Training and our Summer Intensive focuses on our Primary Tier which is divided into three levels, Foundation, Intermediate & Advanced. Proper tier placement is determined on the day of the audition. Normally there are students of a broad range of ages in each class. On rare occasions when adjustment in level is warranted, a change will be made as soon as possible.

Is it possible to attend a portion of one session?

Partial session attendance is not allowed.

Can parents observe classes? Will there be a performance at the end of the session?

Yes, we maintain an open-door policy at ABA. Parents are allowed to observe as long as they stay quiet and respectful of the class. We do not provide a performance during the Summer Intensive however all parents are invited for observation day on the respective dates outlined below:
For students attending Session 1, parents will have the opportunity to attend an informal demonstration on Saturday, July 19th, 2025.
For students attending Session 2, parents will have the opportunity to attend an informal demonstration on Saturday, August 2nd, 2025.
For students attending Session 3, parents will have the opportunity to attend an informal demonstration on Saturday, August 16th, 2025.
